Tom Schwind

Jarrettsville, Maryland- Tom Schwind, cherished husband of Diana Steese, died on December 5, his 71st birthday. He was a devoted father to his son Brian Steese and daughter Sabrina (Daniel) Moore, and proud grandfather of Caroline Moore. Tom was a loving brother to Debbie Rowlett, Bobby (Zita) Schwind, Sandy (Art) Schwind, Gene (Pat) Leuba, Carl Leuba, Kathy Leuba, Chris (Steve) Leuba, Mark (Carolyn) Leuba and the late Ginny Leuba and was beloved by a host of family and friends. Tom served in the United States Marine Corp, doing a tour in Vietnam, for which he received a purple heart. He avidly followed the many activities of his children, coaching both baseball and softball for many years at Jarrettsville Rec Center as well as volunteering in Boy Scout troop 165. Tom recently retired after more than 40 years at Winner Distributing, where he was affectionately known as Tom, the Bud Man. He loved his Maryland crabs and cheering on the Orioles, Ravens and his daughters alma mater, Virginia Tech. With a penchant for bad jokes (not that hed admit it...) and a contagious laugh, Tom never knew a stranger. A service and celebration of his life will be held at the Manor Tavern 15819 Old York Road Monkton, Maryland 21111 on Monday December 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM.
