Tom H. Adams Sr.

Thomas H. Adams Sr. (Tom Adams), age 90, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on February 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Cambridge, MD, he was the son of the late Harold J. Adams and Hilda (Wheatley) Adams. He attended Cambridge High School and in the 1940's, he moved to his uncle's Fairview Farm in Creswell. It was there that he fell in love with the neighbor farm girl and married her. Tom and Betty Adams were married for 68 years and lived in Bel Air since 1948. They were active in the civic life of Bel Air and Harford County.

Tom loved baseball and played on the Eastern Shore League that developed many major league players.. He worked at the post office initially as a mail carrier and eventually became Postmaster. Tom worked his entire career in service to the community, retiring from the Harford County government in 1994. As a life-long team, Tom and Betty worked together as part of Betty's volunteer roles at both St. Margaret Catholic Church and at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Through their volunteer activities, Tom and Betty traveled with friends throughout the United States and Europe.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, Betty Adams, he is survived by his sons, Thomas H. Adams Jr. and wife, Geraldine, of Greenbelt, John L. Adams and wife, Mooi, of York, PA and Michael E. Adams Sr. and wife, Debbie, of Bel Air; daughter, Elizabeth Adams of Lutherville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Martha Crockett.
