THURSTON LaRUE JONES, age 71, of Bel Air, died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on May 8, 2003. Born in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Mable Agnes Lovell Jones of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania and the late Thurston L. Jones. He was an industrial engineer manager for the Martin Marietta and T.R.W. Co. A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, he was active in the Oak Grove Living Tree. He was a devout family man and loved his family and the Lord. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing his 5 string banjo.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Sharron (spelled correctly) G. Hackett Jones; two daughters, Linda Hicks and her husband, Richard Hicks of Bel Air; Tara Jones of Bel Air; two brothers, Rev. Richard Jones of Nova Scotia, Canada; Rev. Cal Jones of Moscow, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Margaret Hill of Denver, Colorado; Gladys Fisher of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Piano Fund, 2106 Churchville Road, Bel Air, Maryland 21015.
