Thomas W. Scarff

Thomas W. Scarff, age 79, of Belcamp, MD, formerly of Forest Hill, MD passed away on April 27, 2012 at his home. Born in Forest Hill, MD, he was the son of the late Philip LeRoy and Alice Wiley Scarff. A 1949 graduate of Bel Air High School and a 1953 graduate of the University of Virginia, he retired after 44 years from the Harford Mutual Insurance Company in Bel Air where he was Vice President and Treasurer . He was a member of Emory United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling and camping. He loved spending time at Ocean City or on the Bush River canoeing and kayaking. An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching University of Virginia's football, basketball and baseball games.

Mr. Scarff is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Hash Scarff of Belcamp, MD; son, William W. Scarff of Reisterstown, MD and stepson Richard B. Webster of Nottingham, MD; sister, Martha Scarff Frost of Columbia, MD; and grandchildren, Lauren K. and Ryan T. Scarff of Reisterstown, MD. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his siblings, Philip L. Scarff Jr., Evelyn Scarff Fox and Louise Scarff Greer.

Pallbearers will be John Sellare, Mark Renick, Robert Frost, Steve Evans, Matt Evans and Joe Galbreath.
