Thomas Turner Scott Sr., age 85, of Bel Air, MD, died on February 10, 2009 at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Union, SC, he was the son of the late Charles Maxwell and Clara Elizabeth Turner Scott. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, from 1943 to 1945, he served our country during WWII on the U.S.S. Tracy. He moved from South Carolina and became a resident of Harford County in 1946. He retired from Glen L. Martins where he worked from 1941 to 1980. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, he also belonged to the American Legion and the VFW in Bel Air. He enjoyed boating, walking, horseshoes, and living in Ocean City, MD.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Elizabeth Kelly Scott of Bel Air, MD; sons, Thomas T. Scott Jr. and wife, Phyllis F., of Riverside, MD, Uwe G. Neumann and wife, Marlana M., of Joppa, MD; daughters, M. Dianne Cottrell and husband, Oscar W., of Joppa, MD and Barbara L. Smith and husband, Albert E., of Joppa, MD; sisters, Martha H. Driggers of Florida, Kathryn M. Bishop, Jeanelle M. Wingo, and Carol T. Rector, all of South Carolina; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Charles Maxwell Scott and James Scott; and sisters, Ruby Gunn and Frances Watson.
Pallbearers will be Brian Scott, Robert Scott, Jacob Scott, Jason Smith, Scott Cottrell, and Randy Cottrell.
