Thomas ''Tom'' G. Butera

Thomas G. "Tom" Butera, age 84, of Joppa, MD, passed away on July 30, 2012 at Citizens Care Center in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the husband, for 44 years, of the late Louise Butera. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country during WWII and later worked on the assembly line for GM Motors. A resident of Harford County for 44 years, he enjoyed going to the Diner in Aberdeen with his friends. He also enjoyed his grandkids and was a great Pop-Pop. He loved taking bus trips to Atlantic City, listening to Big Band Music and liked to dance at weddings where he was always the highlight.

Mr. Butera is survived by his son, Gary Butera and wife, Denise, of St. Leonard, MD; daughter, Sharon Jakelski of Abingdon, MD; and grandchildren, Allen, Ryan, Heather and Kimberly. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, George and Joseph Butera and his sister, Alba Kares.
