Thomas "TG" George Williams, age 89, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on August 3, 2021 at his home. Born in Galax, Virginia, he was the son of Joseph and Avis (Sheets) Williams. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country in the Korean War. He was joint owner of the Bel Air Lumber Company and a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.
TG was known for his sense of humor which is what attracted his wife of 63 years. He enjoyed reading the Aegis and he made sure to look at the obituaries every week to see if he had died. He wanted his obit to read "Tom Williams. Died. Pick-up Truck for Sale". Because he was quite thrifty, TG was great at repurposing household items instead of buying new ones. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn, and in the Fall, he never met a leaf that he didn't want to vacuum up with the leaf catcher attachment. He looked forward to watching his favorite show "Gunsmoke” because Matt Dillon needed his help. TG was surprised to find, in his later years, that he liked fried squash. Cornbread, beans and banana pudding were a couple of his favorites. The only time he liked seafood was when was eating crabs at the shore shack. At Christmas he loved opening his "prizes" and was always happy to get Cella dark chocolate covered cherries. He enjoyed company, going to church and cherished his family, church family, friends and neighbors.
Thomas is survived by his wife Dorothy Williams; daughter, Teri Young; son, Bradley Williams and his wife Theresa; grandchildren, Jessica Young, Justin Young and Joseph Williams; and many other loving friends and family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Colen Williams, Elroy Williams and Dan Williams and sister, Evonell Williams Draper.
Those who desire may send contributions to Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, 2813 Forge Hill Road, Bel Air MD 21015 and/or Humane Society of Harford County, 2208 Connolly Road, Fallston, MD 21047.
