Thomas Scott Meckelnburg

THOMAS SCOTT MECKELNBURG, age 46, of Abingdon, MD died in California on March 9, 2008. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Dr. Robert Lee Meckelnburg and Katharine Ann Loman Meckelnburg of Landenberg, PA. A Harford County resident for 19 years, he worked as a Geohydrologist for the U. S. Army, Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine. He earned a bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina where he was on the swim team. He later earned a Masters Degree in Geology from the University of Delaware. He was active for years with the Harford Ski Club where he was the President and webmaster and planned ski trips over the past 14 years. He was a loving husband and great father who loved his children very much.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Meckelnburg is survived by his wife of 10 years, Mary Estelle Grez Meckelnburg of Abingdon, MD; a son, Evan J. Meckelnburg of Abingdon, MD; a daughter, Caren G. Meckelnburg of Abingdon, MD; a brother, Douglas T. Meckelnburg of Denver, CO; and three sisters, Cheryl M. Stone of Falls Church, VA, Sharon M. Struthers of Greenville, DE, and Lauren M. Cochran of Elkton, MD.
