Thomas Morris Price Jr., age 75, of Churchville, MD, died on January 31, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas Morris Price Sr. and Emma Elizabeth Carson Price. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served our country during the Korean War. A resident of LaPorte, IN for 26 years, he lived in Harford County from 1962 to 1972, coming back to the county in 1998. He was employed with the Martin Company, working with astronauts John Glenn and James Irwin, at the start of the space program with the Gemini capsule training. He also worked for Sullair Corporation for 13 years as a corporate plant engineer. He was always interested in science and mechanics and loved his power tools. He loved to sing and met his wife at the school operetta at Dundalk High School.
Mr. Price is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Patricia Sims Price of Churchville, MD; sons, Michael Thomas Price and wife, Annette, of LaPorte, IN and Christopher Sims Price and wife, Sherry, of LaPorte, IN; daughter, Suzanna J. Shortt and husband, Barry, of Aberdeen, MD; brothers, David Price of Indiana, and Charles Price of Wisconsin; sisters, Ruth Price and Terry Lawrence, both of Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Michelle, Ian, and Dustin Price, all of LaPorte, IN, Meghan Short and Patrick Short of Aberdeen, MD, both attending school in Lynchburg, VA.
Pallbearers were Nathaniel Price, Nicholas Price, Ian Price, Dustin Price, Patrick Short and Timothy Sims. Honorary pallbearers were Douglas Price and Steven Howe.
