Thomas J. Flaherty

Thomas "Tom" John Flaherty, age 64, of Edgewood, MD, died on June 13, 2010 at his home. Tom was born April 24, 1946, in Bryn Mawr, PA, but raised in Hagerstown, MD. He was the son of the late William Flaherty and Helen Shank Flaherty Bricker. Tom graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1965 and did a stint as an Army Reservist. He was employed with Middle River Aircraft Systems. He was formerly employed with Fairchild, Sears, and Grove Mfg. Tom was known for wearing shorts no matter how cold it was or how much snow was on the ground. His hobbies included Duckpin Bowling, Golf, Fishing, and College Football.

Tom is survived by his wife, Katharine Flaherty; brothers, William "Skip" Flaherty and wife, Linda, and Benjamin "Benny" Flaherty and wife, Janet; son, Michael "Beetle" Flaherty; daughter, Karen Flaherty; stepson, Robert Korpisz; stepdaughter, Barbara Rempe; nephew, Benjamin Flaherty Jr. and wife, Laura; five grandchildren, Jeremy Flaherty, Robert Korpisz Jr., Lydia Korpisz, Brittany Skrutiski, and Kate Rempe; and numerous cousins.
