Thomas H. Driver Sr. of Bel Air, MD died on July 11, 2016 at the age of 91 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Joppa, MD to William Daniel and Mary Cathleen (Morgan) Driver, he was the husband of 56 years to the late Doris M. Glenn. He graduated in 1942 from St. Stephen Catholic School. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he was drafted in 1943 and served our country during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. He became the Bata Shoe Store manager on Main Street in Bel Air and later worked as a guard at Edgewood Arsenal. He began his career at Food Fair and later retired from Giant Food in 1994 after 35 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Amanda Kahl, Leslie A. Driver and D. Ellen Driver, all of Bel Air; sisters, Cathleen Lyon of Charlotte Hall and Maude Elizabeth Taylor of Bel Air; grandchildren, Suzanne M. Bearry, John L. Broyhill, Thomas H. Driver III, Alexandra Driver, Elizabeth Driver, James M. Schruefer, Amanda C. Estep and Melissa E. David; and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas H. Driver Jr., daughters Catherine S. Driver and Susan M. Liedel, sister Mary H. Mullen and brother Jerome M. Driver.
Pallbearers will be John L. Broyhill, James M. Schruefer, Michael Glenn, Edward Jones, Will Driver and Scott Lyon. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Taylor and Pat Glenn.
