Thomas L. Engram, Sr.

April 4, 1942 — August 23, 2023

Thomas L Engram, Sr., age 81, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home on August 23, 2023. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Ellsworth and Dorothy (Stylc) Engram. He retired in 2004 after 40 years teaching high school mathematics, 30 years at North Harford High School, the other 10 split between Patterson High School and City College High School.

Tom is survived by his children, Thomas (Tommy) L. Engram Jr. (Stacey), Patrick J. Engram, Deborah M. Engram (Brian Habicht) and Jeanne M. Engram (Craig Barbato); his sister, Priscilla Saffran; and his grandchildren, Karlie Moore (Jon), Arianne Krueger (Parker), Ryan Engram, Jacob Barbato, Kyle Engram, and Luke Engram.

Tom had a love for playing the piano and especially loved playing with the music ministry at church. He was an avid woodworker specializing in furniture pieces.  He loved to socialize and treat others to a good meal out. He had a motorcycle for many years which he greatly enjoyed riding. He enjoyed being a teacher and loved the students, but they loved him even more. In his younger years, he was a tennis player and a tennis and track coach.  He was the biggest Orioles fan there ever was, never missing a game. But most of all, he enjoyed the company of his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly!
