THOMAS C. WALKER SR., age 76, of Bel Air, MD, died on March 7, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Street, MD, he was the son of the late Challie Thomas and Hazel Bernice Hash Walker. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served our country during the Korean War. He retired from the Harford County Department of Public Works after 20 years where he was a plant operator. He also worked at Aberdeen Proving Grounds for many years, as well as, Preston Stationery for 11 years and the Bel Air Post Office. He attended Bel Air Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years. He collected antique radios and enjoyed traveling.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bertha Hess Stifler Walker of Bel Air, MD; three sons, Thomas C. Walker Jr. and his companion, Russell Marshall, of Harwood, MD, Phillip C. Walker and his wife, Norma, of San Diego, CA, and Brian W. Walker and his wife, Robyn, of Forest Hill, MD; a sister, Shirley A. Webb of Dover, DE; three grandchildren, Tanya Campbell and her husband, Michael, of Port Deposit, MD, Carl J. Walker of Forest Hill, MD, Cole W. Walker of Forest Hill, MD; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brandon, Faith, and Jack Campbell, all of Port Deposit, MD. Also survived by step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Billy Joe Walker.
