Theodore ''Ted'' S. Moyer

Theodore "Ted" S. Moyer, age 83, of Edgewood, MD, passed away on September 17, 2012 at his home. Born in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Theodore Shoemaker Moyer and Helen Kahler Moyer. He retired as a Major with the Maryland State Police and was the former Sheriff of Harford County. He was a member of the Maryland Chief of Police Association, Maryland State Police Alumni Association and the Northwestern University Alumni Association. He worked on many committees in Harford County which included the Boys & Girls Club, Lions Club, Salvation Army, Edgewood High School Booster Club and was Chairman of the Parks and Rec Advisory Board. He had also been involved in various youth activities in Edgewood where he was Commissioner of Baseball and had coached basketball, football and baseball.

Mr. Moyer is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elaine Tucker Moyer of Edgewood, MD; sons, Theodore Michael Moyer and wife, Mary Covert Moyer, of Edgewood, MD, Stephen Thane Moyer and wife, Michelle Silverio Moyer, of Fallston, MD and David Gray Moyer and wife, Stacey Thomson Moyer, of Forest Hill, MD; and grandchildren, Dani, Kyle, Drew and Kelsey Moyer.
