THEODORE “TED” S. HOFFMAN, SR., age 85, of Belcamp, MD, formerly of Bel Air, MD, died on May 16, 2006 at his home. Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Elias Hoffman. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired after 30 years’ service as a salesperson for the Lavino Shipping Company, a Baltimore steamship agency. He was an avid world traveler and was a member of St. Margaret Church. His family said that he liked fishing, enjoyed watching birds, and was an avid coin collector. He was known as “Poppy” by his children, grandchildren and friends.
Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha “Molly” E. Gorman Hoffman, of Belcamp, MD; one son, Theodore “Ted” S. Hoffman, Jr., and his wife, Karen G. Hoffman, of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Lisa Hoffman Rios, and her husband, Frederick R. Rios, of Williamsburg, VA and Janine McMillan, and her husband, Charles R. McMillan, of Abingdon, MD; one son-in-law, Hassan Ataei-Kachuei of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Gloria Link of Ottsville, PA and Rose Lillian Lally of Philadelphia, PA; and five grandchildren, James Ataei-Kachuei of Raleigh, NC, Whitney Marie Hoffman of Rock Hill, SC, Paige E. McMillan and Ethan Hoffman McMillan, both of Abingdon, MD and Alexander Rodolfo Rios of Williamsburg, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Kim M. Ataei-Kachuei.
