Thelma "Timi" Lee Kaukeinen

Thelma L (Timi) Kaukeinen passed away on Friday September 29, 2023, at Upper Chesapeake Hospital, surrounded by a loving family. She was born March 12, 1940, in Jersey Shore, PA to Melvin and Helen (Huling) Blackwell. She married the love of her life, Melvin T. Kaukeinen, Jr on August 23, 1958. She was predeceased by her husband and her parents. 

Timi is survived by her children, M. Thomas Kaukeinen III, Kelly Kaukeinen Hoover, both of Bel Air, MD and Cindy Kaukeinen of Elkton, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian (Sarah) Kaukeinen, Ashley (Ryan) Welker, Kurt Hoover, Matthew (Mona) Kaukeinen, Kaelin Hoover, and Kaysea Hoover, great grandchildren Lily, Charlotte, Grant Welker. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Sara Bitner, and Judith Burke, and inlaws Joseph (Phyllis) Kaukeinen, Linda Esposit, Sally Harman, and Nancy Kaukeinen. 

Timi worked as a licensed hairdresser for many years and enjoyed keeping the family’s hair in style. She enjoyed many hobbies including playing cards, video games, bird watching, reality TV, going to the casinos and horse races, and talking politics. Her number one hobby was a support system for her family. She was babysitter, driver, costume maker, troop leader, pet wrangler, and so much more.
 
At her request there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to your favorite charity or performing an act of kindness.
