Thelma G. Hill

September 23, 1924 — June 30, 2017

Thelma G. Hill, age 92, of Churchville, MD passed away on June 30, 2017 at her home. Born in Galax, VA, she was the daughter of Alex and Lelia (Bowers) Ayers and wife of the late Raymond A. Hill. She was a switch board operator at C&P and had also worked at Edgewood Arsenal assembling grenades during WW2. An avid gardener, she loved her flowers, sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting, and drawing. She loved her family, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren were special to her. She also leaves behind Ozzie and Jenny, her fur babies and constant companions.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughter, Janet M. (Chris) Kahl of Rohnert Park CA; son, Curtis R. (Linda) Hill of Churchville, MD; sisters, Faye Teague and Wilma Rakes; brothers, Dallas and Larry Ayres; grandchildren, Michael (Wendy) Kahl, Katie (Cory) Mish, Ryan (Amanda) Hill, Jacob (Amanda) Hill, Deborah (Tim) Rogers; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kody Kahl; Tyler, Kahlen and Austin Mish; Hunter and Colton Hill; and baby Rogers expected in October.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Ellers.
