Tevis Robert Welsh, 77, died at home on January 28, 2014 with his wife of 56 years by his side in Perryman, Maryland.
Born in Houston, Texas, on August 23, 1936, the son of Charles Tevis and Catherine Mae (Sheridan) Welsh, Tevis moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1942 where he met and married Martha (Goetz) Welsh in 1957.
His interests included cars, collecting coins, spending time on Bush River, the Baltimore Orioles and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed taking walks with his grandchildren and spending time with family.
In 2001, Tevis retired from Johnson Control as a mechanic. He took several trips to Florida and enjoyed visiting the mountains and views along Blue Ridge Parkway.
Tevis is survived by his devoted wife, Martha Emily (Goetz) Welsh, 6 children and their spouses, Kenneth and Sharon Welsh, Tom and Carol Young, Barry and Linda Welsh, Allen Welsh and fiancée, Tiffany, Kathleen Decker, and John and Joy Lasher; 15 grandchildren, Julia, Karen, Amanda, Colleen, Jeremy, Tyler, Morgan, Jennifer, Elizabeth, MacKenzie, Rachel, Curtis, John, Jillian, and Evan; 5 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Aaron, Alec, Joanna, and Hunter; and his sister, Betty Ann Decker.
