Tavy Combs Hein

Tavy C Hein, 97, of Churchville (formally Bel Air) MD, died peacefully in her sleep on October 6, 2016 at the Hooper Hospice in Forest Hill.

Tavy was born in Sparta, North Carolina on June 29, 1919. After having worked on the family farm, she came to Maryland where she met and married her husband, George. They were married for sixty-five years. She retired from Edgewood Arsenal in 1972. She loved working in her garden and yard.

Born June 29, 1919 in Sparta, NC, she is predeceased by her husband, George W Hein , her parents, Jacob and Rosa Combs, twelve siblings, Glen (Nellie) Clint Combs (Reecy), Quincy Combs (Beulah), Dempsey Combs (Virgie), Bert Combs (Effie), Lester Combs (Mary), Fred (Minnie), Zelma (Clarence) Roberts, Zorie Combs, Elmer Combs (Jean), Ola Keiger (James), and Clay Combs (Mary).

Survivors include a daughter, Joan A (Bruce) Cable of Churchville, MD and son, William David (Ann) Hein of Pasadena, MD; three grandchildren, Jennifer E (Christopher) Bishop of Salem VA, Christine E (Thomas) Davies of Bel Air, MD, and Ethan D Hein of Pasadena, MD; a great-grandson, Ryan W Bishop, of Salem, VA; a sister-in-law, Trula (Henry) Hein, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, and support staff at Harford Memorial and Hooper's Hospice for their care and support in her final days.

Private family services and burial were held at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
