Tallulah Jacquelyn Owens

TALLULAH PERRY OWENS died on June 10, 2006 at her home in Abingdon, MD at the age of 74. Born on November 15, 1931, she was the third of four children born to the late Lonnie and Jessie Perry. She graduated from Tuskegee High School in 1950. Mrs. Owens then attended Tuskegee University where she met her future husband, Dr. Omer Odell Owens, who preceded her in death. Dr. and Mrs. Owens moved to Edgewood, MD in 1952. In 1963 they moved to the home in Abingdon, MD where she lived until her death. Mrs. Owens touched the lives of hundreds of children as a Harford County Foster Parent for over 40 years, and as an elementary school teacher of grades one and two at Old Post Road Elementary School before retiring in 1980.

Mrs. Owns leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Timothy Owens and Joyce Thompson of Abingdon, MD, David and Susan Owens of Middle River, and Greg and Lora Owens of Edgewood, MD; one daughter, Erica Owens of Abingdon, MD; one sister, Velma Lee Foster of Atlanta, GA; 7 grandchildren, Scereil Owens of GA, Michael Troy, Nicole Adams, Edward Owens and Ariah Owens, all of Edgewood, MD, and Devin Owens and Dominick McCoy, both of Middle River, MD; and one great-grandchild, Elijah Owens of GA.
