Talia Marie Pleasant, 4 years old, passed away peacefully Saturday May 24, 2008, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore (with mommy and daddy by her side). Born in Bel Air, MD, she is the daughter of Leda and Jerome Pleasant of Joppa, MD. Along with her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Cheryl and Jack Zill of Essex, MD, Salina Williams of Aberdeen, MD and Duward Grice of Abingdon, MD; great-grandparents, Shirley and Calvin Fritsch of Joppatowne, MD and Eva Pleasant of Aberdeen, MD; aunt, Dawn Fugate of Essex, MD; cousins, Erica and Lauren Fugate; extended family and countless friends.

Talia was a beautiful little girl with big brown eyes and an infectious smile. She adored the Disney princesses and as her last wish, through the generosity of caring friends, family and strangers was able to visit them just a few weeks ago. With an incredible sense of humor, she loved to make silly faces and tell knock-knock jokes. She loved to color, spend time with her friends Camryn and Kendall and going to Ocean City with her family.

What a blessing she was to all who knew her and those that have followed her courageous story from afar. As she bravely battled cancer, she touched so many, teaching us to love, to cherish the present moment, to hope beyond expectation and to trust in that which is unseen. Her story brought hundreds of people together; strangers opened their hearts in celebration and hope for her. The world is a better place because she was in it. Although we weep for the dreams that will go unfulfilled, we celebrate the love and the hope that she brought to so many. Talia is no longer in pain, no longer suffering and Heaven has welcomed this precious little Angel.
