Sylvia Day, 81, of Joppa, MD passed away on August 18, 2015 at her home. Born in High Point, NC she was the daughter of the late Roy McKinley Holloway and Texie (Casey) Holloway and wife of the late Kenneth Ira Day. She had worked as a seamstress for the Bel Air Sewing Factory. She loved her family, especially her great-grandchildren, and enjoyed watching church services on TV. She also loved mowing grass and working in her yard. In her younger days she enjoyed traveling and visiting the casino.
Mrs. Day is survived by her daughter, Linda Acord of Joppa; brothers, Daniel Holloway and Clyde Holloway (Pearl); sisters, Edna Salisbury (William), Rosalie Farmer (Jerry) and Grace Morgan; granddaughter, Melinda Howell; great-grandchildren, Alexus Griffin, Janet Howell and Makenzie Howell; son-in-law, Jimmy Clark; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her siblings, Pauline Beavers, Ruth Lawrence and Howard Holloway.
