Aberdeen

Suzanne Elizabeth Nason, age 84, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born and raised in Annapolis, she was the beloved daughter of the late John D. Howard, Sr. and Winifred (Stevens) Howard Brady.

A dedicated nurse for 43 years, Suzanne held both an RN and BSN and worked across many healthcare fields, eventually transitioning into nurse education, a role she cherished. She found immense pride in mentoring the next generation of nurses, sharing her wealth of knowledge and experience with compassion and care. Suzanne had a deep and genuine curiosity, and her passion for learning was evident in her interests in both clinical and holistic medicine. Her broadminded approach to healthcare reflected her belief in the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit.

A lifelong learner and adventurer, Suzanne traveled the world, visiting at least eight countries and fostering a deep connection with the landscapes of the American Southwest. She was an avid reader, constantly expanding her already vast knowledge, and was known for her keen intellect and insatiable curiosity. Her interests spanned an extraordinary range of subjects, from science and medicine to literature and art. Those who knew her often remarked on how difficult it was to fully capture the breadth of her knowledge.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Suzanne had a collector’s spirit, finding joy in the tangible reminders of the places she'd visited and the things she loved. Her warmth, intelligence, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Suzanne is survived by her son, William Nason; daughters, Donna Miller and husband John, Leslie Nason Johnston, and husband Tony; grandchildren, Nicole Hoffman and husband Brad, Zachary Miller and wife Gina, Erin Nason, Kali Nason, Alexander Nason and wife Jolyn, Noah Johnston, and fiancé Sabrina Flores, Maia Nason Johnston; great grandchildren, Ryan Hoffman, Hannah Hoffman, Landon Nason and Rory Nason.

In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by sisters, Jean Depew, and Fay Childress, brother, John Howard, daughter-in-law Shelly Nason, and son, Howard Nason Jr.
