SUSIE R. SULLIVAN, age 85, of Joppa, died at her home on May 29, 2005. Born in Schuyler, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Percy Lee and Mary Frances Simpson Burton and the wife for 53 years of the late Grant E. Sullivan, Sr. She loved country music and has always been a country girl at heart. She was born and raised in Schuyler, Virginia in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her strong faith I God has always been a presence in her life. The things that Susie most enjoyed in her life were watching her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. She also loved to have fresh cut flowers from her garden. Most recently she was very fond of Dora the Explorer. She will be dearly missed in the hearts of so many that she has touched throughout her lifetime.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by three sons, William A. Sullivan and his wife, Dorothy, Grant E. Sullivan, Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, and Larry W. Sullivan all of Edgewood; four daughters, Linda C. Mairose and her husband, Bruce, of Middle River, Judith Y. Blevins and her husband, Kenny, of Joppa, Jeanne S. Smith and her husband, Paul, of Darlington, and Valerie J. Blevins and her husband, Denny, of Joppa; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Sullivan of Bel Air; one son-in-law, Hartsel Mumpower, of Bloxom, Virginia; one brother, Lawrence Edward Burton and his wife, Jeanann, of Schuyler, Virginia; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Gary W. Sullivan; one daughter, Audrey E. Mumpower; one daughter-in-law, Karen Sullivan; four brothers, Ervin Burton, Flynn Burton, Robert Burton, and Addison Burton.
