Susan V. Blocher

June 17, 1919 — February 2, 2004

SUSAN V. BLOCHER, Born June 17, 1919, of Bel Air, MD, parted from this life on February 2, 2004. She has added her song to God’s Heavenly Chorus.

Born to Edith Hardesty and Mark Hester she resided in Baltimore. She graduated from Forest Park High School in 1937. In 1941 she married Richard Owen Blocher who graduated from Poly in 1936. They resided in Baltimore until 1963 when she moved to Bel Air.
Susan was a member of the Daughters of Job, Order of the Eastern Star, and an active member of the Bel Air Lioness’ while her husband Richard was President and District Governor of the Lions. She was a member of NARFE and AARP as well. Susan worked for the Federal Government at Edgewood Arsenal for nine years.

She is survived by four children and eleven grandchildren. The four children live in Baltimore and Harford Counties. Richard Blocher of Timonium, his wife, Mary Jane and three daughters, Meghan, Heather, and Meridith. Sue Ann Strobel, her husband Craig and two sons, Craig and Michael. Diane Slusher, her husband Bill, one daughter, Michelle, and two sons Edward and Jason. Bill Blocher, and his wife Ann, two daughters Angela, Katherine and son Christopher.
After Richard’s death in 1983 Susan relocated in Venus, Florida where she resided for several years. She married again in 1993 to Eugene Dague of Port Richie, Florida. After Eugene became ill Susan returned home to be with her family. Her final address was in Bel Air at Brightview Assisted Living.

Pallbearers will be: Craig D. Strobel, Michael Strobel, Ed Slusher, Jason Slusher, Christopher Blocher, and Craig J. Strobel.
