Stuart Bruce Kennedy, age 81, of Bel Air, MD, died on January 21, 2009, at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. Born in Passaic, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Anna Marie Bilodeau Kennedy, and husband, for 38 years, of the late Ruth Eleanor Rivett Kennedy. A career soldier, he served in the U.S. Army for 25 years retiring as a Major. When he enlisted in 1947, he fought in the Battle of Okinawa during the occupation of Japan and was stationed in the Ryukyu Islands, Korea, and Vietnam. After retiring, he was an instructor for the Military Personnel Office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds for several years. He was a member of the New London, CT, Elks Lodge #360, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #189, Disabled American Veterans, Bel Air Chapter #30 and also enjoyed golf and bowling.
Mr. Kennedy is survived by his sons, David S. Kennedy and wife, Karen J., of Churchville, MD and Dennis M. Kennedy and wife, Judy, of Bel Air, MD; grandchildren, Melissa S. Rusnak of Darlington, MD, Kimberly R. Stopa of Indiannapolis, IN, Delaney K. Kennedy of Framingham, MA; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin J. Rusnak and Krystal M. Rusnak, both of Darlington, MD.
