Steven C. Webb

August 6, 1952 — February 12, 2024

Steven C. Webb of Street, Maryland passed away on February 12, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He lived a full 71 years deeply caring for his family and friends, telling stories, farming and being a great supporter of the 4-H program. He was also a lover of engines, ones that ran on both two and four wheels.

Steven was born on August 6, 1952, to the late Tom and Helen (Badders) Webb. He was brought home to the family farm on Jerrys Road, and he spent his life there. He was quite proud of that. He graduated from North Harford High School in 1971. In 1980 he built his log cabin on the farm and married Linda (Pelt) Webb in 1984. They enjoyed a 39-year marriage. After dairy farming, he started working for Atlantic Tractor in 2003. He remained there until his retirement in 2021.

Those that knew him, knew how much he loved the younger generation. Before he had his own children, he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. It was a full-time job keeping their Honda Mini Trails running. When his daughters were born, he was dedicated to raising independent, hardworking girls. And, when he finally got a hold of his grandchildren, he loved them and mentored them with everything he had. It wasn’t just his family that he felt this way about. He was often found telling bedtime stories to all the 4-Hers at the county fair or helping kids get to the show ring. In his later years he gladly ushered the Clovers around the skillathon tables helping them take their tests. Nothing brought him more joy than seeing the shop he helped build full of 4-Hers having a meeting or kids at the fair working together.

In addition to his wife Steven is survived by his daughters, Tracy Lynn Brooks (Robert), and Sara Jessica Webb; grandchildren, Everett Walker Brooks, Virginia Meaghan Brooks, and Josephine Ruth Brooks; and brothers, Charles Webb (Barbra), David Webb and Douglas Webb (Anita) along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to Harford County 4-H. Checks can be made payable to Harford County EAC. Mail to Harford County Agricultural Center, c/o 4-H Office, 3525 Conowingo Road, Suite 600, Street, Maryland 21154 or Blackhorse 4-H Club, 5300 Onion Road, Pylesville, Md 21132. In the note space, indicate: In memory of Steve Webb.
