Steven Charles Mallory

August 2, 1957 — February 26, 2021

Steven Charles Mallory, age 63, of Abingdon, Maryland went to be with our Lord on February 26, 2021 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Gardiner Eugene and Marian Christine (Buckingham) Mallory. Steven was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country from 1976-1980. Steve then began working as an aerospace quality engineer at Martin Marietta Aero Systems while pursuing his bachelor’s degree at Towson University. After suffering a severe brainstem stroke in 1994, he founded “The Stroke Network,” an online stroke support group for which he acted as president and CEO. He was the humorous "silver fox" of the family. Despite being quadriplegic for almost 27 years, he had such a contagious sense of humor. Steve was always positive and touched so many people's lives by the way he carried himself. He was an incredibly strong man, husband, and father. He and Melissa were Bel Air High School sweethearts and shared 44 years of marriage together. Steven was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church for over forty years.

Steven is survived by his wife Melissa Mallory; two daughters, Traci (Peter Jr.) Golumbek and Erin (Ryan) Novakoski ; grandchildren, Olivia Golumbek, Peter Golumbek III, Nathan Golumbek, Nicholas Golumbek, Ryder Novakoski and Saylor Novakoski; brothers, Tommy (Jeanine) Mallory, Bobby (Jane) Mallory and Tim Mallory; sisters, Jean (Tom) Walter and Gerri (Mark) Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Gina Mallory and Robin Eiler; brother-in-law, Drew (Debbie) Eiler; mother-in-law, Patricia Eiler; and father-in-law, Andrew Eiler. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to "The Stroke Network", P.O. Box 492, Abingdon, MD 21009 or Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 1012 Old Joppa Road, Joppa, MD 21085.
