Stanley Straub

August 18, 1948 — February 16, 2025

Bel Air

Stanley Straub, age 76, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on February 16, 2025, at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edwin and Hilda (Clemens) Straub and the husband of 56 beautiful years to Kathleen M. (Hyman) Straub.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Family was his entire world. Stan and Kathy were married at St. Matthew's Church in 1968. Their love story began as teenagers when Stan left the pool hall, he saw his soon-to-be wife go by in a car and he had to follow her to her grandparents house. So it began a relationship that turned into a long and adventurous life together, full of love and family.

Stan had the kindest nature and would do anything for his wife and family. He took care of all those around him with his generous heart and had an infectious laugh. A handyman at heart, he had a talent for repairing furniture. He worked for Baltimore Aircoil Company in heating and air conditioning, where he was a skilled technician and earned many certificates for his work.

He loved cruises, especially trips to the Cayman Islands. He and his wife cherished their time at their condo on the Bay in Ocean City, spending countless days with family and friends. Stan also loved helping his grandchildren check out the crab pots on the Bay. His happiest moments were spent creating memories at the beach with his beloved wife and family.

Stan will be remembered for his kind and loving nature, a trait he passed on to his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Michael (Kristina) Straub; daughter, Michelle (Benjamin) Salah; sisters, Susan Piazza, and Charlotte Howard; and grandchildren, Ben Straub, Olivia Straub, Peyton Straub, Anthony Salah, and Daniel Salah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Gilbert, and brother, Charles Straub.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
