Stanislaus Joseph Kufera, age 88, of Edgewood, MD died peacefully at his home on January 20, 2018. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Joseph Thomas Kufera and Ida (Trzybinska) Kufera. Mr. Kufera was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Navy, retired as a computer operator in 1994, and was one of the founding members of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. While attending the church, he started a weekly Bingo night, an activity he loved and helped run for over 30 years. Mr. Kufera was involved with Parish fundraising, served on the church council, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a generous and supportive man to many local charities, and an avid Baltimore Orioles, Colts and Ravens fan.
Mr. Kufera is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Josephine Kufera; son, Joseph Andrew
Kufera and wife, Kay; daughter, Angela Kufera Setzer and husband, Wayne; grandchildren,
Gregory and Joshua Kufera, Matthew and Danielle Setzer; many nieces and nephews; siblings, Theresa, Jean and John; and his Bingo friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kufera was preceded in death by siblings Walter, Frank, Stella,
Anthony and Joseph.
