SPECIALIST ARI DANIEL WEEKS, age 23, of Abingdon, MD, formerly of Leyden, MA, died on September 10, 2007 while serving in Iraq. Born in Greenfield, MA, he was the son of Jon Weeks and Karyn Brown of Leyden, MA. A paratrooper in the U. S. Army, he was a specialist in the Army’s 82nd Airborne 2nd Brigade. He was an honest, loyal, and open individual who loved life and was very adventurous, and who was able to express himself through heartfelt letters. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile. A person with a great sense of style, he loved to draw and listen to music. He played soccer, baseball, and skied, and loved the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Ashley J. (Tillery) Weeks of Abingdon, MD; mother and father-in-law, Deborah J. and Kevin E. Tillery of Abingdon, MD; brother-in-law, Derek Tillery of Abingdon, MD; grandparents, Charles Daniel and Marjorie Ann Brown of Chadds Ford, PA; aunts and uncles, Rudi Weeks and Gri Saex of South Hadley, MA, James Weeks of Northampton, MA, Regina and Michael Jaye of Boston, MA, Brant Brown and wife, Robby, of Landenberg, PA, Chris Brown of Santa Barbara, CA; and cousin, Heather Brown of Philadelphia, PA. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Virginia Cornwell Weeks, and uncle, Gordon Weeks of Easton, MA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Jeremy Murphy Assistance Fund, Washington Mutual Bank, 902 2nd St, Snohomish, WA 98290. This soldier sustained injuries, and survived, while standing right next to Specialist Weeks.
