SPARKS ROBERT SHIFFLETT, age 84, of Havre de Grace, formerly of Baltimore County, died in Harford Memorial Hospital on October 31, 2004. Born June 9, 1920 in Charlottesville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Herman and Lelia E. Morris Shifflett, and the husband of the late Margaret Frey. He was a veteran of WW II where he served in the U.S. Army as TEC 5 with the 345th Field Artillery Battalion in Germany. He received the WW II Victory Ribbon, Army of Occupation Ribbon and European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon. His name, military photo and information are in the WW II Memorial in Washington, D.C. He worked for over 30 years at Gray Concrete and Pipe Company in Baltimore, MD as a truck driver. He was known to many co-workers as Sparky. He enjoyed fishing, working with wood and gardening.
Mr. Shifflett is survived by five sons, William Shifflett and his wife, Belinda of Havre de Grace; Robert Shifflett, Sr. and his wife, Cathy of Conowingo; Larry Shifflett of Princeton, West Virginia; Steven Shifflett of Perry Hall; Michael Shifflett and his wife, Betty of Baltimore; two sisters, Phyllis Aldridge of Louisa, Virginia; Mary Morris of Ruckersville, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Holly, Tammy, and Billy Shifflett, all of Havre de Grace; Robert Shifflett, Jr. and his wife, Heather of Conowingo; Amy Sizemore and her husband, Larry of Elkton; Stevie Shifflett of Edgewood; Stacey Sayers of Edgewood; Rebecca and Rachael Shifflett of Baltimore; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew and Jared Shifflett of Conowingo; Brittney and Mikayla Sizemore of Elkton; Holly, Faith and Noah Sayers of Edgewood; and four step-children, Howard Frey; Joanne Kedzierski; Daphne Morgan; and Wanda Hunt. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Elmer Shifflett, Ray Shifflett, Herman Shifflett, Jr. and Ralph Shifflett.
