Sophie H. Olszewski

Sophie H. Olszewski, age 87, of Aberdeen, MD, died on March 27, 2010 at her home. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Katusz Sr. and Frances Olsiefski Katusz and wife of the late Leon T. Olszewski. Formerly of Dundalk, she has been a resident of Harford County for 17 years. A past member of St. Ritas in Dundalk, she was currently a member of St. Francis de Sales in Abingdon, MD. She had worked at Fort Holibird and GM as the manager of food service and as a child care provider out of her home raising her own children, as well as, many who considered her their second mother. She dedicated her life giving to others and enjoyed crocheting, bingo and playing slots.

Mrs. Olszewski is survived by her sons, Rick Olszewski of Hebron, MD, Stanley Olszewski and John Olszewski of Boonsboro, MD; daughter, Jody Staley of Aberdeen, MD; brother, Joseph Katusz of Tucson, AZ; sister, Lillian Burgess of Richland, WA; and grandchildren, Meghan, Dan and Jesse Staley, Carly, Julie and Anna Olszewski.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Harry Olszewski.
