Sonja "Sue" Marshall, died on April 20, 2011, at the age of 68 after a brief illness. She was born in Parkville, MD, to the late Morgan and Anna Belle Fitzell. She graduated from Parkville High School in 1960 and Towson University in 1964 with a degree in Secondary Education. A teacher for 32 years, she taught English at Parkville Middle School from 1964 to 1971 before taking a leave of absence to raise her children. In 1979, she returned to teaching at Havre de Grace High School and then moved to Mountain Christian School in Joppa to teach English from 1982 to 1985. She attended evening classes at Towson University earning a Master of Education degree in 1986. She went on to teach English at North East (Cecil) High School from 1985 until retiring in 2005. A popular teacher at each location, Sue was very active in school activities. A lifelong history buff, she volunteered as a docent at Tudor Hall in Bel Air upon retirement.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Alfred "Ted" Marshall, and her three children: Kellie Budnick, and her husband Dale of Aberdeen; Grady, and his wife Ariana of Arlington, VA; and Molly Dempsey, and her husband Michael of Bel Air; her grandchildren Meghan, Jack, and Colin; and her brother Daniel Fitzell, and his wife Sandie of Timonium.
