Shirley S. Roberts

On January 13, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones, Shirley Sawyers Roberts went to be with her Lord and Savior at her home in Stewartstown, PA.

Shirley was born on November 18, 1935 in Galax, VA to the late Ted Clarence Sawyers and Lillie Ethel Poole Sawyers. She was the wife of the late Bobby Joe (B.J.) Roberts, whom she married on January 25, 1958.

Shirley grew up in the Fallston, MD area, however she graduated from Hereford High School in 1954. She was a pastor's wife and her work career consisted of being a secretary to her husband and at various businesses in Maryland and Virginia. Shirley was always available to help anyone that had a need. Shirley was a member of Stewartstown Baptist Church. She was always involved in ministries at the many churches that she attended through her life.

Shirley leaves behind, her brother and his wife, Neal and Peggy Sawyers, McDowell, VA; her sister and her husband, Fern and Kenneth Bollinger, Monkton, MD; her brother-in-law and his wife, Bill and Jane Roberts, East Liverpool, OH; her sister-in-law and her husband, Betty Ann and Millard Conner, Churchville, MD, cherished nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She also leaves behind very special friends, Michael and Karen Smith, Rachel and Rebecca, Bel Air, MD.

The family would like to thank everyone for their visits, prayers, thoughts and many acts of kindness and support. Your love for Shirley and for us is much appreciated.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Kenneth Bollinger, Jr., Daniel Bollinger, Philip Conner, Mark Conner and Michael Smith.
