SHIRLEY KLETT, age 77, of Bel Air, MD, died on January 5, 2007, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born in Bend, Oregon, she was the daughter of the late John Dickinson and Sylva Ethel Woodard Hertz. She was a research writer for the U. S. Government. Her credits include a BS in Psychology, Wash. State U., 1950; MS in Psychology, 1963; PhD in Psychology, U. Wash., 1957; Analyst Boeing Aircraft Co., Seattle, 1951-52; research assoc. U. Wash., Seattle, 1952-54; vis. psychology King County Schools, Seattle, 1954-55; research Psychologist VA Med. Ctr., Perry Point, MD., 1959-62; research Psychologist U. S. Army Human Engineering Lab., APG, MD, 1964-66; Operations Research Analyst, 1966-67; columnist Journal International Assn. Jazz Record Collectors, Bel Air, MD, 1979; reviewer Cadence mag., 1978. Member of the International Assn. Jazz Record Collectors (v.p. 1985-87, pres. 1987-89, Corr. Sec. 1989, Meritorious Svc. Award 1989), Phi beta Kappa, Sigma Xi, Phi Kappa Phi.

Mrs. Klett is survived by her husband of 56 years, Carroll James Klett of Bel Air, MD; one son, John Klett of Carmel, NY; and two grandsons, James and Anton Klett, both of Carmel, NY.
