Shirley Ann Cooper

Shirley Ann Cooper, age 79, of Aberdeen, Maryland passed away surrounded by her family on December 20, 2019 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Creswell, Maryland, she was the daughter of Armie Otis and Lois Mable (Burchett) McMillan and wife of the late John Arthur Cooper, Jr, who was the love of her life. She considered Oak Grove Baptist Church as her home church. She enjoyed taking care of her kids, grandkids and was a caretaker to many other extended family. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, reading, going places and being around people. Shirley was known for her laugh and her smile and always put others before herself.

Shirley is survived by her two sons, Johnny (Linda) R. Cooper of Wilmington, DE and Michael (Julie) W. Cooper of North East; two daughters, Linda C. Zellman (Chris "Kippy") of Havre de Grace and Donna (Michael) J. Greb of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Jenifer Peterson, Rebecca Cooper, Amanda Ebrado, Crystal Zellman, and Samantha “Sammie” Greb; step-grandchildren, Jenny Finnegan and Michael and Daniel DePrisco; and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Jean Bare.
