Shawn R. Ponton

Shawn R. Ponton, age 21, of Jarrettsville, MD, passed away suddenly on November 17, 2012. Born in Baltimore, MD, he is the son of Craig Steven and Regina Marie Carroll Ponton of Jarrettsville, MD. A graduate of North Harford High School, he was majoring in Biology at Coastal Carolina University and played volleyball in college for a club team. He was a major contributor and believer in Relay for Life and helped build houses for cancer patients in Charleston, SC. He enjoyed mountain biking, golfing, fishing and loved cars, especially his Mustang and Corvettes with which he participated in auto crossing. He was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan. Shawn was described by his family and friends as the sweetest and most kind-hearted guy many have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and his infectious smile could brighten even the darkest of days. He was genuine, friendly, and deeply passionate about life, friends, and family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Jennifer C. Ponton of New York, NY.
