Sharon Lee (Grafton) Barranco, age 75, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on January 22, 2023 at her home. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, she was the daughter of Merrell and Dorothy (Ensor) Grafton. Sharon graduated from Bel Air High School and attended the University of Maryland. After college, Sharon lived with her paternal grandmother, Bessie Grafton, as her caregiver. In the 1970’s, Sharon, along with her parents, owned and operated 2 Ice Cream stores in Harford County, culminating her own store in Edgewood. Her cake decorating prowess was legendary, including Wedding Cakes. In her later years, she worked at Saubel’s Market in Whiteford. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, was a voracious reader and loved NASCAR. She was a dog lover, Including Lady, Maude, Barnaby, Fred, Holly, Jake and Charlie and her “other niece” Layla.
Sharon is survived by her sister, Susan Lynn (Reed) Blom and brothers Stephen J. Grafton and his companion Cindy Adams and Stacey L. (Mary Ann) Grafton; nephews Eric (Amy) Blom and Stephen Grafton; and nieces Betsy (Jon) Schultz, Jaime (Chris) Cooper, Helen Grafton, Kathryn Grafton and Alison Grafton. Sharon also had an extended relationship with the Barranco family.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
