Sharon Jeannette Schaeffer, age 82, of Abingdon, Maryland passed away on April 21, 2022 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Charles and Jeannette (Walters) Baldwin and wife of the late Robert Schaeffer Jr. When she was 18, she was baptized and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Abingdon, MD. Sharon Schaeffer played the role of mother and father after the death of her husband Robert Schaeffer Jr. Despite these struggles, she always provided a loving and warm home for her children. Sharon had a positive attitude and always encouraged everyone. Not only was she honest and trustworthy but she was a great listener. She loved the Lord and reading her scriptures, she loved anything that had to do with Disney, and all flowers. She had a smile to brighten anyone’s day. We will miss her dearly, but her spirit and strength lives on in every one of us and in the lives she touched. She was a true angel.
Sharon is survived by her sons, Robert (Lorene) Schaeffer and John (Ann) Schaeffer; daughter, Michelle (Patrick Brian) Finnegan; grandchildren, Corey Jr., Mindy, Kristina, Holly, Amanda, Dana, Sarah, Chad (Aastha), Hanna, Rapheela Samantha, Hunter, and Harrison; great-grandchildren, Natalia, Makai, Isabella, Nova, Beau, Amira, Everett, and Major; siblings, Charles (Sheila) Baldwin, Jr., Nancy Shepherd, Ronald Baldwin, and Carol Ritzel; sister-in-law, Sherrie Pew; and a dear friend Anita Campbell. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Corey Blaine Schaeffer.
