Sharon Ann Asbury (nee Badders), only 73, of Joppa, MD passed away suddenly on August 16, 2018 in her home. Born in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of William Addison and Orpha Elizabeth (Rigsby) Badders and the wife of more than 50 years of the late Charlie E. Asbury. She worked for Baltimore County Schools as a bus attendant for disabled children (and she had a loving story about every child for whom she cared) and enjoyed writing poetry. Sharon truly loved her children, loved and adored her grandchildren and genuinely loved spending time with her family. Seldom, if ever, did a Sunday go by that the family didn’t get together “at Mom’s house” to eat, drink and enjoy one another’s company. She kept the close-knit family together. She was always the life of the party and every Sunday, the party came to her. She loved her family with all of her heart and soul and her family reciprocated that love in spades. She liked that others envied the closeness she had with her kids and her grandchildren. Who wouldn’t? It made her that much happier and proud. Our lives will not be the same without her...this world will not be the same. We have lost our monarch.
Mrs. Asbury is survived by two sons, Randall Asbury of Joppa and William (Dee) Pennington of Cabot, AR; three daughters, Linda (the late Joe) Prevo of Essex, Trish (Jim) Cammarata of Joppa and Brenda (Michael) Pizanis of Abingdon; two brothers, Charles Badders of Street and Leon Badders of Dundalk; sister, Betty Weaver (formerly of Dundalk) of Elkton, VA; three granddaughters, Jennifer, Constance and Angela; two grandsons, Jonathan and Zackary; four great-grandsons, Jordan, Rowan, Alex and Shayne; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her adored grandson, Andrew, and beautiful great-granddaughter, Emily. They are now all together...looking down...watching over us.
Services will be held under the caring guidance of the family owned McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon, MD on Wednesday August 22, 2018 at 12 noon with Pastor Chris Dembeck officiating. Interment will take place at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
