Shane T. McBride Sr., age 41, of Bel Air, MD, died on on January 15, 2011, at his home. Born in Fayetteville, NC, he is the son of Patricia Ann Raab Schmidt and her husband, Herman, of Kingsville, MD and Ernest William McBride Jr. and his wife, Jo Ann of Shelbyville, KY. He attended Glen Burnie and Joppatowne High Schools, and worked as a Computer Specialist / Security. He was an amazing guitarist, composer, and musician and played in many bands, Likquid, VSD, and Orphan Project to name a few. He was an amazing intellect, with a heart of gold. He taught guitar lessons, to anyone who wanted to learn and enjoyed anyone who would play. Reading was his daily ritual along with a bowl of cereal before bed. He treasured his Cherry Red Mustang GT. He also enjoyed skiing and Geocaching; and in his younger days, riding his bike. He was a friend of Bill W., and loved his dog, Sahara; and his Sugar Gliders, Sassy and GoGo. Along with his wife, CJ, he was active in his church and played contemporary music on the church's worship team at one time. As a handyman and troubleshooter, he could do anything he put his mind to.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Carole (CJ) A. McBride of Bel Air, MD; son Shane Travis McBride Jr. of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Ashley Nicole McBride of Aberdeen, MD; siblings, Jesse William McBride and wife, Robin Louise, of Belcamp, MD, Elizabeth Ann Schmidt of San Francisco, CA, Daniel McBride, and Levi McBride of MD, Christopher Schmidt and wife, Jennifer, of Highlandtown, MD; Thomas Schmidt and wife, Pam, of Owings Mills, MD; Katy Garrett and husband, Mike, of NC; and Margaret Schmidt and husband, Bill Grafton, of Edgewood, MD; granddaughter, Jade Lynn StMartin of Aberdeen, MD; sister-in-law, Sharon McCoy and husband, Patrick of Severn, MD, and a host of family and friends.
