Senia Ruth Phillips, wife of R. Edward Phillips, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 20, 2010 at her home. She was born September 16, 1929 to the late Earl and Hassie Adams of Jarettsville, MD.
Senia was a loving wife, devoted and caring mother, doting grandmother, and loyal sister. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by her husband, Ed, and their six children, Robert and his wife, Michelle Phillips of Lititz, PA, Kathy and her husband, Bruce Woody, of Bel Air, Karen and her husband, Jim Black, of Bel Air, Eric and his wife, Anne Phillips, of Manheim, PA, Lori and her husband, Randy Austin, of Elkton, MD, Leah and her husband, Todd Ross, of Columbia, PA, as well as 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Senia is also survived by four sisters, Mary Hensley of Fawn Grove, PA, Geneva Mulligan of Jarrettsville, MD, Estella Little of Havre de Grace, MD, and Thelma A. Stamper of Bel Air, MD; five brothers, Robert T. Adams of Jarrettsville, MD, Earl J. Adams of Ogden, UT, Allen J. Adams, O. Wayne Adams, and Phillip G. Adams, all of Jarrettsville, MD; also countless nieces and nephews.
Always well known for her wisdom and biblical knowledge, Senia started teaching Sunday school at age 11 and continued throughout her life inspiring service to God and encouraging outreaches to children in her own community, playing guitar and singing with her husband and family for various church functions was one of her passions. She also held many church leadership positions. Primarily a homemaker; she enjoyed cooking and playing Scrabble and loved her family most of all. Senia's quick wit, smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be W. Bruce Woody, Todd W. Ross, James M. Black Jr., Justin D. Woody, Joel P. Woody, and Aaron L. Austin.
