Sarah Stump Streett, 45-year-old wife, mother, daughter, and friend, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011, of breast cancer. Born and raised in Harford County, she was married to Paul Streett for 19 years. Sarah raised three daughters on Spruce Hill Farm in Bel Air. She met her husband 35 years ago while active in Harford County 4-H. Sarah attended North Harford High School and Western Maryland College. A graphic designer turned stay-at-home mother, Sarah poured her creative energy into photography and cooking, and her love into family life and raising her children.
Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, Sarah fought courageously and inspired many through her involvement in Mothers with Cancer, Young Survival Coalition, and breast cancer awareness. Through her personal blog (http://sprucehill.typepad.com), Sarah formed connections with other mothers, cancer survivors, and women battling the disease all over the world. In addition to her stories and support to others battling, Sarah was known for her unrivaled recipes, love of the beach, and chocolate of any kind. She will be remembered most for her endless love of family and her children.
Sarah is survived by a husband, Paul Streett; three daughters, Hannah, Emily, and Evelyn Streett; three brothers, Andrew, John and Coleman; and her parents, Sally and John Stump.
A celebration of Sarah's life has been tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. on June 18th, at the Deer Creek Overlook in Rocks State Park, Street, MD.
