Sarah Blevins, age 87, of Bel Air, MD passed away on June 1, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Born in Crawfordsville, AR, she was the daughter of the late James Thaddeaus and Sara Irene Haden Cockrill and wife of the late Van Sidney Blevins Sr. She was born and raised in Arkansas until she married Van Sidney Blevins in 1949. They lived in Minneapolis, MN, Kansas City, MO, Cincinnati, OH until moving to Bel Air in 1966. She worked for 20 years at Aberdeen Proving Ground as Chief of Disbursement until her retirement in 1986. She was a lifelong bridge player, volunteer at St. Margaret Church, involved with the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and after retirement, a golfer.
Mrs. Blevins is survived by her sons, Chip Blevins of Bel Air, MD and John Blevins and his wife, Missy of Arnold, MD; daughters Susan Beck and her husband, Neil of Gettysburg, PA and Virginia Feeks and her husband, Captain Thomas Feeks of Edgewater, MD; and grandchildren, Sid, Jeremy, Phillip, Justin, Abigail, Christian, Sara, Diana, SO1 Patrick and Lt. jg Regina. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, James T. and Haden Cockrill.
