Sandra Thompson, at 94 years old, peacefully passed away on January 26, 2024, at Sterling Care Forest Hill in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Sandra was the cherished daughter of the late Edmund and Dorothy (Beals) MacPherson. She was also the devoted wife of the late Franklin H. Thompson.
Sandra loved the art of decorative painting and created many pieces for family, friends, and to earn money to replenish her supplies. She also spent much time and energy traveling around New England finding proof of her family’s past. Sandra was proud to find evidence of being related to two “witches” hanged in Salem and having family arrive on the Mayflower.
Sandra loved dogs and was most content when cuddling or spoiling a four-legged friend. She has many companions awaiting her at the rainbow bridge.
Sandra is survived by her loving daughter, Susan M. Thompson of Bel Air, MD, a sister, Judith McDonald of Austin, MN, and many nieces and nephews who all have fond memories of her life.
At Sandra’s request, there will not be any services. Donations may be made in her honor to your favorite animal shelter or humane society.
In this time of sorrow, we invite friends and family to share their condolences and fond memories on the guestbook at mccomasfuneralhome.com. Let us remember Sandra for the love she shared, the beauty she created, and the lives she touched. May she find eternal peace, surrounded by the love that accompanied her throughout her extraordinary journey.
