Sandra Langston, age 66, passed away on March 7, 2025, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Holt, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Betty (Van Steelant) Drier and the devoted wife of Michael Langston.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Sandra’s dedication to service began after she attended the University of Chicago, where she initially pursued a career in elementary education. Her passion for protecting and serving her country led her to enlist in the Army, where she completed distinguished tours of duty with Company A, 12th Military Police Battalion at Fort McClellan, Alabama; Delta 4th of the 1st Ordnance Battalion at Fort Jackson, South Carolina; and Headquarters and Headquarters Company 502 I&S Battalion in Augsburg, Germany.
Following her military service, Sandra returned to Michigan before marrying her best friend and fellow soldier, Michael. Together, they built a life abroad, spending 14 years in Germany while raising their son and daughter. After moving to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, they were blessed with their third child. They made their home in the Aberdeen area and Sandra retired from the workforce in April of 2023.
Sandra had a free and loving spirit, embracing life with faith, music, and an adventurous heart. She had a passion for traveling, antiquing, and decorating, always finding beauty in the world around her. Above all, her family—especially her grandchildren—meant everything to her. She cherished time spent in her favorite places, including Wildwood, NJ; Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN; and Havre de Grace, MD.
Sandra's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
