Samuel ''Sam'' H. Nickle

Samuel "Sam" H. Nickle, age 87, of Aberdeen, MD passed away on August 29, 2013 at his home. Born in Rising Sun, MD he was the son of the late Samuel Howard Nickle Sr. and Mary Esther Dawson Nickle. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country in WWII, China, Burma and India. He worked as a service man for the Canteen Vending Company, was a Civil War buff and loved to garden.

Mr. Nickle is survived by his wife, Betty Nickle; sons, Michael Nickle of Aberdeen, Thomas Nickle of Richmond, VA, Larry Nickle of Havre de Grace, Gary Nickle of Aberdeen and Steven Nickle of Drayden, MD; daughter, Patricia Nickle of Aberdeen; brothers, Earl Nickle of Aberdeen and Robert Nickle of North East; sister, Ruth Law of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Marley Ann, Aaron and Maya Nickle; and great grandchild, Emily Nickle.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
