Ruth ''Ruthie'' M. Katchur

RUTH "RUTHIE" M. KATCHUR, age 65, of Port Deposit, MD, died on March 23, 2008 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Richard Penman and the late Ruth Rieck Shutt and wife of the late Andrew M. Katchur. She was raised in Mt. Carmel, PA by her grandparents, Mary and Paul Rieck, and then moved to Joppatowne in 1964 after being married. When her husband passed, she moved to Perry Hall, and then recently, to Port Deposit. She worked as an auto insurance agent. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Trinity Lutheran Church where she attended since 1964. She enjoyed fishing with her friend, George Lewis of Lancaster, PA. They also went to parks and liked being out on the water. She loved spending time with her grandson and enjoyed being a "Mom-Mom".

Mrs. Katchur is survived by her daughter, Lynn M. Anderson and her husband, Michael, of Port Deposit, MD; two brothers, Rick Shutt of Birdsboro, PA and Raymond Shutt of Reading, PA; a sister, Joyce Ebright of Mt. Gretna, PA; and one grandson, Drew M. Anderson of Port Deposit, MD; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Carol Knabb.
