Ruth Rose Bartel

Ruth Rose Bartel, age 82, of Edgewood, MD, died on August 16, 2009 at her home. Born in Ketsch, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Heinrich and Therese Oestringer Hambsch and wife of the late George Bartel. She enjoyed needlepoint, puzzlebooks, cooking, German and Gospel music, and walking and playing with her grandkids.

Mrs. Bartel is survived by her son, Walter George Bartel and Joanne Gibson, of Michigan; sister, Margot Licata of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Michael John Bartel and wife, Jamie Christina, of Edgewood, MD and Katherine Theresa Rose McCoy and husband, Timothy, of Virginia; and seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Sheets, Hannah Bartel, Jacob Bartel, Logan Bartel, Michele Ford, Tiffany Bartel, and Jesse McCoy.

Pallbearers will be Michael Bartel, Master Sgt. John Greer, Joshua Baldwin, Sanford Williams, William Brown and Michael Brown. Honorary pallbearer will be Walter Bartel.
